Featured Sedona Wedding Vendor: Bobby Russell / Sedona Sounds

Eventsbyshowstoppers.com

Music is so important for a great wedding reception.  Sedona has one of the best DJs on the scene.  Bobby Russell is the key to making sure your guests have the best time ever.  It is not just about playing CDs.  Bobby works with his clients to develop play lists with all their favorite songs.  He considers the order of the songs and integrates them into the fabric of the evening at just the right time.  Once he gets an idea of what his client is needing, Bobby can suggest songs that work perfectly.  From time to time, Bobby’s wife, Sally, assists him.  Ken and I were honored to help them with their wedding some years ago and have come to know them as such good friends.

Bobby masters his state of the art sound equipment.  Everything is perfect and sleek.  It is a real treat just to hear him and watch him operate all the high-tech audio apparatus that he has such a passion for.  It never fails to amaze us how he can get so much sound to fill a room out of the little space he requires.  He is also an accomplished musician on piano, guitar and drums and provides services for corporate events.  He offers DVD Videography and slide shows too.  Such talent!

If you need a master of ceremonies or an announcement made, Bobby is perfect.  He will tailor his services around whatever you need him to do.  His presence is wonderful too.  Bobby has the look of an entertainer and is truly a Sedona celebrity with his infectious energy.  Sedona Sounds is the ticket to having a blast at your Sedona Wedding reception.  Needless to say, Bobby books very fast.  Call him today at 866-820-5550.  Visit Bobby HERE:

We just can’t close this feature without introducing Loni.  She is the newest addition to Bobby and Sally’s family and we just love her.

Featured Sedona Weddings: Remi and John

Eventsbyshowstoppers.com

When we learned that Remi was of Japanese heritage and John was English, we immediately thought this wedding would be an interesting project.  The ceremony was held at The Sedona Heritage Society with the reception immediately following at Tlaquepaque, Tlaq.com.  The reception was in the Calle Independencia which is a very popular venue because of the romantic Spanish architecture, trickling fountains, glowing carriage lanterns and charming overhead string lighting.  The wedding was planned by Karen Lynn, Sedonaweddingplanner.com, who did a superb job.  Again, Katrina Wallace, Sedonabride.com, captured the wedding beautifully.  We enjoyed designing this wedding because of the Japanese elements we were able to incorporate.  You may click to enlarge any of the photos to see more detail.

Here is a great shot of the traditional Japanese Torii which is considered a gateway to a holy site.  We made it of giant timber bamboo held together by traditional wooden dowels.  It was beautiful against the red cliffs of Sedona.

Remi and John were charming and conscious of every detail.  Ken did an exceptional job of designing her bouquet in a contemporary Japanese style.

Orchids, antique hydrangeas, equisetum and cockscomb were used in the designs.

Here are some close ups of the Bride’s Maid’s bouquets.  The combination of colors and textures were very effective.

This is the custom handle of Remi’s bouquet made of equisetum.  Ken chose this type of reed because it mimics bamboo and went perfectly with the theme.

The head table was really lush.  We used manzanita branches, hydranges, orchids and equisetum.

Smaller square glass cubes, some with candles and some with equisetum were used randomly down the table.  Small origami cranes symbolizing faithfulness dangled everywhere from branches of manzanita.  We were very pleased with the overall look of this wedding.
